It's The Little Things: Sesame Street

We took Waverly to Sesame Street Live over the weekend, she loved it just as much as I thought she would & even a little bit more. :)  My husband ended up joining us which was so much fun, both of us were so excited the entire drive there since we knew Waverly had the best surprise ever waiting for her.  As soon as we sat down & saw all of her friends in real life, she literally just stared in awe, not even moving a muscle the entire show.  It was seriously magic, Waverly sits still for nothing, it was the first time in the history of my career as a parent that my kid was the only one not speaking or moving in the place.  I don't think I've sat that long in two years.

We took hardly any pictures while we were there, we were too busy watching Waverly in rare form!!  We did take both Elmo & Cookie with us though, this little mama made sure that Elmo got his bottle before we left.  Too much cute.

The only other Sesame picture of the day, this one of Waverly's face when we told her it was time to leave.  She seriously would have stayed there all day if we let her, waiting in the empty arena for Elmo to make his way back in. ;)

I always think it's interesting when our babes start picking up on likes & dislikes around this age, yet I guess it only makes sense since they are just little versions of us.  Waverly has always been so active that she never stopped for anything, so at the rare times we have shown her tv, she has had no interest.  (Girlfriend could care less about Frozen, I know, it's crazy.)  Yet for whatever reason, she is all about some Sesame Street, she can spot Elmo from aisles away at the store & requests to snuggle with an episode of Ernie each morning.  My sister-in-law gave us these little Sesame Street figures a while ago & she is obsessed, she calls them her "friends", gives them kisses all the time, & they take a bath with her every single night.  We take nightly walks with Waverly's stroller & lately, all six "friends" get to take the ride.

Toddlers are awesome.  Most of the time. ;)

Hope you guys are having a great week, thanks to all those who continue to link-up!
XO

  9. The picture of her with the baby stroller is too adorable! Odette could care less about Frozen too. It's all about Tinker Bell in our house! My husband and I laugh because we can recite the movies word for word lol!

  10. So glad she loves Sesame Street! We found out that Mason hated Elmo like the day before we were scheduled to go so needless to say... our trip didn't go quite as well lol. How awesome she sat so still!!!!!
Also that picture of her pushing the stroller... I die! But why does she look like 13 like she is taking the baby she is babysitting for a walk?? Time slow down!

  11. How fun! Liam doesn't watch TV (I know, we are those parents), but his preferences for things are really showing through books, animals, etc. I just love it!

  12. We took the girls to see Yo Gabba Live and Fresh Beat Band Live and they loved it sooo much! Plus, watching the other kids lose their mind in the audience is sooo much fun!

  17. Oh my goodness! That is too sweet! I would be shocked if my little guy sat still for that long! I'm sure it made it easier for all of you to enjoy the show! How fun that they were there live to take her to see them! Emerson is the same way about spotting Elmo -anytime we pass anything with Elmo or Sesame Street he reaches out for it and says, 'mamo?' over and over. It could be a box of cereal, a figure, a stuffed Elmo... doesn't matter. I love that they are starting to develop their likes and dislikes and have favorite things. It really is such a fun age! Now we just need Sesame Street Live to come closer to us! :)

  18. so cute! :) My son didn't really like tv until he was 2ish...so maybe she'll be a little more interested. It's nice on those days you just need to get dinner started, haha. We lovingly refer to it as the electronic babysitter.

  19. What a fun surprise for Waverly! We were shocked the other day at Target when my son found and wanted to wear a Thomas the Train hat the entire time we were in the store. He normally HATES hats, but clearly we just weren't buying the right ones ;) Toddler personalities are so fun, one day they have no voice, and then it seems like overnight they are full of opinions.

  20. This is precious! Hannah absolutely LOVED Elmo at that age! When Liv started noticing the TV, she only wanted Minnie Mouse. So funny how they have such strong opinions!

  21. This is just the cutest thing! I'm intrigued by these Live shows! Kaitlyn doesn't watch much Sesame Street, but she does watch YoGabbaGabba and when we took her to a meet & greet, she freaked out! She was okay as long as they kept their distance, but up close and personal, she was terrified. I've always said K is similar to Waverly (I think) in their energy and active levels. I would be floored and amazed too if she sat still for 10 min. much less 2 hrs. I'd be all over Sesame Street Live if it did that kind of magic!

  22. How fun! We’ve never done the “live” shows before. I wasn’t sure how Mason would do…he has a hard time sitting still for anything longer than 5 minutes. Haha. Waverly is such a doll and I always adore your pictures. Xo!!
