Since Waverly’s birth almost 8 months ago, I haven’t left her longer than a seven-hour stretch. And those stretches are on work days. While I definitely know I need to have me-time and a life outside of being a mom, I just can’t bring myself to miss these special baby moments. She is my sidekick. My mini-me. And there really is not much these days I want to do that doesn’t involve her.
Today begins my annual Fashion Marketing field trip to New York City. I love the city, and all the excitement (and shopping) that comes with it … but the thought of three entire days without my girl is a little gut-wrenching. Especially since I had that sidekick with me for the duration of this same trip last year.

It’s time for mommy to put her big girl pants on. I know Waverly will be more than fine with her Daddy, and it will actually be good for them both. Although, I may just attempt to see if anyone would notice if I went ahead and packed an extra 16 pounds in my luggage? I’m thinking I could could pull it off.
I’ll miss you, baby girl. But don’t worry, Mommy will do lots of shopping for you while she is gone. And I mean LOTS. 🙂
