Our Ornament Exchange

The hustle & bustle of the holiday season has definitely hit our household.  This weekend was packed full of shopping, ornament-exchanging, tree-searching, smores-roasting, and baking lots of sweet treats.  Don't get me wrong ... I enjoyed every festive little moment ... but all of this seasonal celebrating can definitely cause a "holiday hangover."  (Which, by the way, is the only hangover I am experiencing these days.)

Friday night, Waverly Maye joined the girls for her first traditional ornament-exchange dinner.  My friends & I have been exchanging ornaments rather than gifts for the past four years - it's an ideal way to think of each other during the holidays without adding on to the ever-expanding gift lists that we all have.  When we first started this tradition, we would have drinks and end up continuing the celebration on the dance floor at our local bar.  These days, we beat the dinner rush by meeting at 6.  Hmm .. maybe next year we will get really crazy and meet to play a game of bridge?

Waverly before dinner in Outfit #16 in her Chic Countdown to Christmas.  Her denim jumper is from Gap, her cardigan is MudPie, shoes are from Zulily, and headband from Etsy.

Waverly is ALMOST sitting up.  We propped her in front of a present for this candid.  We are wrapping all of our gifts in Kraft paper & Target bows this year. :)
